The Year That Was

In less than an hour, 2011 will finally be a thing of the past. If there was one thing this has year taught me, it's this: Life is full of unexpected possibilities.

From wonderful new friendships, solo travels, disappointments that could shatter your soul to finding the kind of love that will shake you to the core - these were the highlights of 2011 I won't easily forget.

So what does 2012 have in store for me? For all of us? I can't say. But one thing I'm certain of: 2011 pointed me to the right direction. It taught me that anything and everything is possible. It taught me that when there are hurdles to be crossed, you don't back away. So perhaps, 2012 is the year where I take life by the balls and say, "I'm going to conquer you, whether you like it or not."

With that said, I wish all of you wonderful possibilities for the new year. Thank you for being with me on this journey. Happy New Year.

Alphabeticalife on Twitter

I know I haven't been blogging as much and I apologize for that. It's just that, I feel rather uninspired lately. However, I do hope that I get my blogging buzz back once 2012 rolls along.

In the meantime, you can follow me on Twitter for random raves, rants, interesting news bits and the occasional photo - @alphabeticalife

It would be great to interact with some of my readers on Twitter, so add away! See you there.

Prometheus

For fans (such as myself) of Ridley Scott's 1979 classic, "Alien", a lot of questions will be finally answered on June 2012.

I've never felt this way about a movie before, so I'm hoping "Prometheus" won't fail to deliver. Unfortunately, I still have to wait six more months. In the meantime, here's the highly anticipated trailer.

Monocle Cafe

It's hard not to fall in love with Monocle. What was once just a magazine is now practically a religion for its increasing number of fans all over the world. After branching out into retail and radio, Monocle is now entering the world of F&B with the very first Monocle Cafe.

Located at the Hankyu Men's Department Store in Tokyo, the cafe strikes a perfect balance between design, tasty food and amazing coffee (provided by none other than Omotesando Koffee).

The cafe features handsome furnishings designed by Naoto Fukasawa and Jasper Morrison, while Bolichwerke lampshades provide soft lighting throughout the space.

In addition, essential accessories from the Monocle shop are also available, beautifully displayed on Vitsoe shelves.

With such an overwhelming presence of the Monocle brand in this breathtaking space, you'll surely fall in love with Monocle all over again.
