Roisin Murphy in Gareth Pugh
I've said it before and I'll say it again. No one can pull off Gareth Pugh's designs better than singer/fashion icon/all around awesome person Roisin Murphy. Here she is wearing an outfit from Pugh's S/S 09 collection at the Christian Dior show.

From the desk of...
Whenever you're slaving away at work, did you ever think of what it would feel like if you were working for, let's say one of the biggest department stores in the world? Or one of the coolest magazines around? And if ever you have, did you think about how your desk at work would look like? Well, imagine no more! One of the coolest blogs around, A Continuous Lean, has a regular section called "From the desk of...". Every so often, they feature the work desk of stylish guys and they're not always as tidy as you imagine them to be.

Sexy Beijing
One of my favorite channels on YouTube is Sexy Beijing. It's sort of like a documentary hosted by a Jewish American girl, Sophie, and loosely based on the style of Sex and the City. She goes around the city and sometimes out of it to find out more about the lives of people in modern day China and to occasionally find Mr. Right. Sexy Beijing is a very interesting take on contemporary Chinese life and gives its viewers a whole new, often funny, perspective of the middle kingdom.
This is one of my favorite episodes entitled "Lost In Translation". Sophie goes around Beijing asking the locals what their English nicknames are and most of them will make you snicker.

Opening Ceremony features Japan
Fans of Japanese fashion and brands will be pleased to find out that Opening Ceremony will be featuring Japan as its country of choice soon. They will be carrying various brands such as Lad Musician, Porter, Cosmic Wonder, and United Arrows to name a few.
Aside from that, Opening Ceremony will host the Middle Space/Comme Des Garcons shop. They will be carrying the complete line of CDG fragrances and wallets as well as a selection of pieces from the Play line.

Michael Kors S/S 2009
A very graphic collection from Michael Kors and there was a definite love for all things black and white. I'm not complaining, those are pretty much the only colors I wear.

How to become a well-dressed rebel in 30 days
Head on over to GQ.com and sign up for GQ Rules and watch a video for the next 30 days on finding your personal style and breaking some fashion rules.
The videos are hosted by Adam Rapaport (Style Editor), Jim Moore (Creative Director), and Glenn O'Brien (Style Guy) and they also feature several designers who give great tips on what to do and what not to do. Today they are joined by Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders and they discuss how to wear a suit in a non-traditional way.
When you sign up, you get the chance to win a $10,000 J. Crew wardrobe, fly to New York City, and be featured in GQ Magazine. For more information, check out the funny (well, I found it funny) introductory video below:

Band Of Outsiders / Shipley and Halmos, S/S 2009
Band Of Outsiders
Shipley & Halmos
Some key trends from Fall 08 (bowties, plaid) have been carried over to Spring 09 as seen in the collections of Band Of Outsiders and Shipley & Halmos. The past seasons have all been about gentlemanly style and a complete throwback to the 1950's and early 60's and this will definitely continue on.
Band Of Outsiders churns out more variations on the classic boat shoe while Shipley & Halmos creates amazing colors for their plaid patterns. I look forward to the upcoming shows with anticipation and eagerness.
