500 Days of Summer + The Temper Trap

500 Days of Summer is one movie that I cannot wait to watch. In a way, it reminds me of Garden State. Beautiful girl, awkward boy plus great soundtrack.

The song in the trailer is "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap. To listen to the whole song, click here.

Listen to The Temper Trap further and download the song, "Down River", here. Enjoy the fantastic music and have a great Saturday everyone!

Royce': Simply the best

I'm not a big fan of sweets. However, I do make exceptions. Some of the things I can't say no to include: Key Lime Pie, bubblegum ice cream, fried Mars bar with vanilla ice cream and Royce' chocolates.

Hailing from Hokkaido, Japan, Royce' chocolates are perhaps the most delicious chocolates I've ever tasted. The taste is fresh, delicate, creamy and not too sweet - just the way I like it.

I was lucky enough to have been invited to the Royce' press event two days ago and learn more about the brand and sample some of their top-sellers and new products. After the event, we had a tour of the new Royce' concept store at Singapore's newest darling - the ION Orchard.

Some of the chocolates we sampled:

Nama Chocolate. This literally melts in your mouth as soon as you pop it in. My favourite kind is the Champagne Nama.

Royce's famous Potatochip Chocolate. Crunchy, salty and sweet. Delicious.

Pure Chocolate. These discs are how chocolates are supposed to taste like.

Prafeuille Chocolat or the berry cube. A 3mm-thin strawberry flavoured chocolate square filled with blueberry and raspberry cream. Heavenly.

The Royce' concept store boasts chic, white interiors and the latest refrigeration technology to ensure that their products stay fresh. Also, their customer service team is trained by top Royce' employees from Japan so expect nothing but the best.

The Royce' concept store is located at the new ION Orchard at B4. Other locations are at the Takashimaya Department Store and Suntec City Mall.

They're here!

After more than a week of waiting, the Raf Simons x Fred Perry shoes are finally here! Decided to get the size 8 (US) instead and they fit like a glove.

Many thanks to the kind people at Opening Ceremony Online for giving me the exact measurements of the shoe which helped me a lot in deciding whether to get them or not.

The one that got away.

Last Saturday, I purchased the blue Raf Simons x Fred Perry shoes from the online Opening Ceremony store. But today, I got an e-mail from them saying it was already out of stock. My heart sank. It was literally love at first sight when I saw these and I'm terribly sad that my feet won't have the pleasure of wearing them. If anyone knows of other online stores that sell them, please let me know. I'm a size 9 (US).

One last look - worn by one of the gentlemen from Street Etiquette.

So close. Just wasn't meant to be, I guess. I'll be patiently waiting for another pair of shoes to fall deeply in love with. And if I find them, I won't let them go.

Comme Des Garçons PLAY Perfume

In a previous post, the CDG PLAY Perfume was an item I placed lovingly in one of my wish lists. At that time, I was unemployed and had to spend my money on more important things.

Fast-forward a few months later - I get a job and start earning a regular salary. I decide to go back and purchase the perfume but sadly, it was gone. I took it as a sign that it wasn't meant for me and I moved on.

Last Sunday, I passed by On Pedder and saw the familiar bottle on one of the shelves. Without hesitation, I walked in and asked for a new bottle. Turns out, it's on sale. I left the store with a lighter wallet but at least there was a smile on my face. In the end, good things really come to those who wait.
