2 Days in Paris

Watched this incredibly funny and witty film this afternoon. It's directed by Julie Delpy and she stars in it as well alongside Adam Goldberg. I suggest picking up the DVD and enjoy it on a lazy Saturday afternoon with a glass of wine and a cigarette or two (if you smoke, that is).

Rules of Style: Scott Sternberg

#2
"Talking about what brand you're wearing is gay in the bad way. Just keep quiet and play dumb if someone asks. Talking about what a great deal you got on the aforementioned item is worse. If you must, tell your mom, because she has sale empathy and will take your victory as her own. It's sick."

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Rain On Your Parade by Duffy

I'm loving the whole James Bond sound and feel to this song.

Our Legacy Fall/Winter 2009

Our Legacy's F/W 2009 collection pretty much sums up the colour palette I'm trying to incorporate in my wardrobe this year. Lots of light blues, browns, creams and grays. I'm also in love with the club-collared shirt and the leather duffel bag and I'm starting to think that these two pieces are what my wardrobe needs.

Remixed Classic: Bass x Opening Ceremony

Band Of Outsiders re-introduced the preppy wardrobe staple, Sperry Topsiders, in a variety of colours and materials with a slimmer shape last year. This year, Opening Ceremony and Bass team up and bring us three classic (and still very preppy) styles perfect for 2009. (Click on the photo for a larger and fuller view)

What they're wearing: Milan, Fall 2009

I'm more excited about what people are wearing to the shows rather than what's being shown.

Shopping for socks.

1. Light blue polka-dot socks from Paul Smith
2-3. Striped socks from Muji

You can say I went a little crazy over socks this past week.

Mr. Touitou does it again. Another fantastic collection to look forward to.

Thanks to hyr collective for the photo.

How I Want My Future Home To Look Like

I always thought I wanted a house with a lot of glass and concrete. But over time, my taste has changed and I am now leaning towards a warmer, cozier look instead of a cold and sterile home.

Also, aren't these sheets from IKEA amazing?

Uniqlo to open in Singapore April 2009

Japanese super-brand Uniqlo, known for its well-designed and affordable apparel, is set to open in three months time in Singapore. This will be the first branch to open in South East Asia. With over 800 stores all over the world, in countries such as Japan, Korea, London, and New York City in the United States, Uniqlo is set on asserting itself as Japan's number one clothing brand.

The first outlet will be located at Tampines 1 and will open in April of this year. The second outlet will open in June 2009 at the new Ion Orchard shopping mall in Orchard Road.

By the way, happy new year.

Lighter Colour Palette
Lighter Colour Palette by alphabeticalife

I guess you could say this is kind of like a New Year's resolution. And by more fun I mean a lighter palette for my wardrobe. It's time to give black a rest for a little while.

The New Deal feat. Feist - Don't Blame Yourself

Here's one of my favourite songs of all time. Such an amazing song to listen to whether you're dressing up in the morning, en route to work, or relaxing at night with a glass of wine. Enjoy.

The Indispensable Oxford

"...for throwing on the chinos, denim, slacks or shorts - an oxford does the trick. I feel really comfortable, never under or overdressed and I think it looks good." - Ryan Willms, hyr collective

Looks like me and Mr. Willms share the same sentiment toward the oxford shirt. I find myself wearing them almost everyday, making me ignore a lot of my t-shirts. Wearing an oxford makes me feel a lot better especially when I'm wearing something extremely casual such as a pair of shorts and flip-flops and still gives off a casual vibe when paired with dressier pants and shoes. Don't you just love how one simple item like that changes an entire look? I think it's genius.

Vintage Omega

Watches have always fascinated me, even at a very young age. Case in point, this vintage Omega watch that I bought when I was in the fifth or sixth grade. I unearthed it at an antique expedition (aka my mom shopping for antiques) and the price was just right for an automatic Omega. Not too cheap, not too expensive, and most importantly, I had enough money to pay for it.

I had it authenticated later on and turns out it's the real deal and I found out it's from the 1950's. After wearing it for a very limited number of times, I decided to change the bracelet to a leather strap last month when I went home to Manila.

My brother's wedding

Aside from spending the holidays with my dear family and friends, I went home to Manila to attend my brother's wedding. It was a very intimate gathering with close family and friends present at the ceremony.

This was the song that the choir sang as my sister-in-law walked down the aisle. And if you're wondering, yes, I cried.
